The Virtus Group operates a strict authentcity registration process. Should you have either Military, Police, Close Protection or Professional Sports training and experience, and you wish to register for background artiste work, please submit a basic bio below and we will be in contact.


Terms and Conditions

 

 

All rates and payment information will be provided to the Artiste in writing before the date of the production.

 

The Virtus Group deduct 15% commission from the Artiste on all bookings.

 

Payments are made directly to the Artists within 21 working days of the Virtus Group receiving payment from the Production Company.

 

 

Booking Procedures

 

Should you be chosen for work on a production, you will receive either a phone call, text message or email outlining the details of the role. Please respond as soon as possible to these 'castings' as the sooner we hear back from you, the sooner we can book you with the Production Company.

Film & TV

 

There are three main agreements used in and around the London area: The FAA/PACT Agreement, The BBC Equity Agreement and ITV Equity Agreement.

 

FAA/PACT Supporting Artiste Agreement as of the 6th of January 2014

 

Day rate

Based upon a 9 hour stipulated period inc meal break, between 7am and 10pm (before 7am night time overtime will apply. After 10pm night time overtime will apply- Unless called as a nightshoot).

These rates are based on a 10 hour day including one hour for lunch.

Photographic

 

The industry standard for a photographic job is £100 per hour. If the Model is needed for more than a few hours a daily or half daily rate can be negotiate. E.g. half daily £300 full day £500.

 

Similar to commercials, featured Artistes will also have a buy out amount – determined by usage of medium and length of usage.

 

Notes:

 

Background on Photographic jobs is normally £90 for a ten hour day

Nightshoots are paid at time and a half of the above rates.

Any job that shoots beyond midnight is considered a nightshoot.

Buy Outs

 

A 'Buy Out' rate is that of an agreed sum which includes specific actions, events or skills, undertaken during a filming day. Whenever a 'Buy Out' is agreed with production, the elements of the agreement will be explained to the Artiste before confirming them.

 

 

Bookings:

 

No job can proceed without The Virtus Group receiving an emailled Production Company agreement with the invoicing details filled

in. The Virtus Group is acting as an Employment Agency in accordance with the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the conduct of

Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003.

 

Types of assignment:

 

Film and TV:

All work will be paid under the relevant agreement, either BBC/Equity, ITV/Equity, PACT/Equity or FAA/PACT agreement.

 

Photographic:

All photographic jobs will be paid at an agreed rate. Either hourly, half day or full day, plus appropriate usage fee.

 

Commercials:

All commercials will be for a 10 hour day (inc an hour for lunch) and overtime will be paid at a fifth of the daily rate per hour, unless

otherwise agreed. A special rate will be negotiated for night work. All featured artistes will be entitled to repeat fees or an equivalent

usage fee dependent on the number of TVRs.

 

Pop promos:

All pop promos will be for a 10 hour day (inc anhour for lunch) and overtime will be paid at a fifth of the daily rate per hour, unless

otherwise agreed. A special rate will be negotiated for night work. All featured artistes will be entitled to repeat fees or an equivalent

usage fee.

 

Corporate Videos:

All Corporates will be for a 10 hour day (inc an hour for lunch) and overtime will be paid at a fifth of the daily rate per hour, unless

otherwise agreed. A special rate will be negotiated for night work. All featured artistes will be entitled to repeat fees or an equivalent

usage fee.

 

Promotions:

All promotions jobs will be paid at either a 5 hour or 10 hour rate. After 10 hours overtime will be paid at a fifth of the daily rate, per hour

unless otherwise agreed.

 

Voiceovers:

All Voiceover work will be paid at an agreed hourly rate.

 

Travel payments:

On all Non Union agreements a travel payment will be added. Normally £5 travel added within TFL Zone 3. £10 travel added outside TFL

zone 3.

 

Tax and National Insurance:

Following a change in the law from 6th April 2014 all Artistes are self employed for tax and National Insurance and therefore responsible

for dealing with their own NI contributions and Income Tax. The exception to this is when from time to time productions put Artistes on

contract for longer runs, in which case they will be treated as PAYE employees of the production. If this does happen 15% commission of

their earnings is payable to The Virtus Group.

 

Usage:

The status of the assignment shall be agreed before the job proceeds. Either Supporting Artiste, Walk-on Artiste or Featured Artiste. If

this status is found to be different after completion then the artiste may be entitled to be upgraded.

 

Employment:

During the course of the job all artistes' employment status will be dependent upon the specific contract with the production company.

Nothing in this agreement shall render artistes to be employees of The Virtus Groupe in any way. The Virtus Group will act as

an agency for the artistes.

 

Health and Safety:

On set booked Artistes are the responsibility of the production company (the employer). The production company must have suitable

employers liability and public liability in place to cover Artistes. Health and Safety is of paramount importance and is the responsibility of

the production company (the employer). It is essential that working practices are maintained at all times. A failure to comply with Health

and Safety regulations shall constitute a material irremediable breach of this agreement. Relevant Health and Safety information must be

relayed to the Artiste in line with the Employment Agencies Act 1973.

 

Cancellations:

If a booking is cancelled after 5.30pm the day before an assignment, a cancellation fee will be charged of the basic daily rate. A failure by

any artiste to comply with the Production Company's Health and Safety Policy shall constitute a material irremediable breach of this

agreement.

 

Payments:

All payments must be made to Virtus Productions Ltd to our client account. If an artiste is paid directly The Virtus Group reserve

the right to still invoice the production company.

 

Late payments:

All late payments will be subject to a surcharge of 10%. A payment is deemed late after 30 days from the invoice date. Legal action will be

taken to recover all unpaid invoices.

 

Identity:

Virtus Productions Ltd will obtain documentary evidence of each individual's eligibility to work in the UK and a copy of each

individual's passport or photographic id prior to their work on the project.
